As I started making more art, it brought back so many ideas I'd forgotten about over the years. I found objects I'd collected, unfinished conversations, forgotten memories, and things I always knew I'd come back to eventually. They weren't hiding, and they weren't lost. They were simply waiting for me to come back.It's less about searching than recognising. This piece came from wondering how ordinary things can quietly hold memories, ideas, and experiences until we notice them again. It's the feeling when something feels familiar, as though it's been waiting for you to arrive.
An Agreement with Uncertainty

Some of my dreams are incredibly vivid, this was one of them. When I woke up I could still remember the colour and temperature of the water, the conversations, and even the address of a childhood friend's house that I hadn't thought about in over ten years. I woke up with the emotions still sitting in my chest. Whenever I have dreams like this, it feels like a waste not to document as much of it as I can before those details begin to disappear.Rather than recreating the dream itself, I wanted to capture a glimpse of it. Even though so much of the dream felt uncertain. it was never frightening. I was curious about what was happening and just accepted it for what it was. And so I found myself agreeing with the uncertainty.
Just Grabbing My Carrot

This painting came from a reoccurring childhood dream that stayed exactly the same every time. I can still remember the colours, the sound of dripping water, and the strange feeling of knowing exactly what was about to happen. The title comes from the only thing I can remember saying in the dream.I'd held onto it for so long only as a memory and wanted it to exist somewhere else. I wasn't trying to recreate the dream exactly. I just wanted to paint the colours, texture and small details that had stayed with me all those years.
The Underground Pool

I dreamt about a long, narrow pool hidden underground. It was dark and mysterious, but didn't feel threatening. There was soft ambient music playing, red lights reflecting across the water, sheer curtains, and a large grey cat calmly swimming through the pool. It was strange, unusual, and completely unexpected, but while I was there it all felt quite normal.It's strange how a place can feel familiar when it exists nowhere but a dream. I remember waking up in awe of it. I wanted to paint the scene but couldn't quite do it, so I started painting from the feeling instead. The colours, shapes, and space became more important than recreating the dream itself, and thats where this piece began.
